We just setup a Emergency Ops Center and run thru by a fiber optic (so technically it is the same network but with some redundant internet). And we would like to setup some servers to replicate all production servers (Wins, sql, apps...etc.) for failover/redundancy purpose. The best is to replicate live all the time..but less than a day count might be fine. If something happens, the systems can be "reactively" or best proactively kicked in.
Running Cluster on SAN might be a solution...but we may not have enough $ to build a SAN now.
I would like to ask if VMWare provide any products which would take a snapshot or run a replication of the whole Wins servers to a vm environment by a schedule. I think of VM because we do not have to buy all duplicate set of new hardwares.
Is Vcenter for this purpose?
Any suggestions would be great.
