I have a Supermicro model number X7DW3 64 bit server with intel xeon cpu e5410 @233 gz quad core . I have installed SUSE 10 sp2 64 bit on it with VMWARE 2.0 (free version). I was able to create a new datastore then create the vm in the space. Once the vm restarted to begin installing the iso image software (SUSE 10 SP2 64 bit), an error appeared. It says " Cool software, but... This is a 32-bit computer. You cannot use 64-bit software on it."
I have flashed the bios with updated file, I have enabled VT in the bios (although there wasn't an option to do it for either 32 or 64- bit, just enable). I have restarted the computer, and then had to reload vmware 2.0 everytime....this has occurred when I updated the bios and now it does it each time I reboot.
I am frustrated. I want to use VMWARE and once I was able to play around with the free version to see how it functioned, our city was going to purchase the full blown version. First, I need to solve this issue.
Please let me know what to look at, what I should do.....
Thanks so much for you help in advance. I bow to your knowledge...
