/proc/cpuinfo

Hi,

New to vmware. Did installation on VMware Server with

RHEL4 32bit. On my system I have "Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU         T5500

@1.66GHz". Windows XP sees the CPU as dual core and show both the

cores.

However, in VMware server, /proc/cpuinfo doesn't show both the cores. Here is the listing from /proc/cpuinfo:

# cat /proc/cpuinfo

processor       : 0

vendor_id       : GenuineIntel

cpu family      : 6

model           : 15

model name      : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU         T5500  @ 1.66GHz

stepping        : 6

cpu MHz         : 1663.257

cache size      : 2048 KB

coma_bug        : no

fpu             : yes

fpu_exception   : yes

cpuid level     : 10

cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss nx pni

bogomips        : 3284.99

I have SMP Kernel installed:2.6.9-5.ELsmp.

What needs to be done for detecting both the cores? On another fourm, i was told to check /proc/vmware/cpuinfo. However, I do not have /proc/vmware/

Regards
