Hi there,
I just bought a brand new CPU / MB / Mem combination for the sole purpose of installing 64-bit Windows Server 2008, and now I'm fu**ed. Here are the details of my adventure:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 with Intel VT support
MB: Asus P5E-VM DO with Intel VT support and enabled in BIOS (Yes, I cold re-booted it after the change)
Memory: 8Gb Kingston DDR2-800
I ran the VMware-guest64check-6.0.0-45731.exe utility, and it says "This host is capable of running a 64-bit guest operating system under this VMWare product".
I am using the latest VMWare Server version 2.0, build 122956 over Windows Vista 64-bit Ultimate, running without the slightest issue.
But here is my problem: Whatever the 64-bit Windows version I am trying to install on a VM inside VMWare Server, it says that my CPU is not capable of running 64-bit applications.
Is there something that I missed?
