Failure with USB ISDN modem

I just upgraded to version 2.0 from 1.5 on Fedora 7 x64 and the USB connected ISDN Modem I was using inside a Windows 2000 Professional (32bit) VM is no longer accessible from the VM. I also tried connecting the ISDN Modem from a Windows XP Professional (32bit) VM and got the same behaviour.

A USB flash drive works fine with the VM.

The modem is an "OPEN NT1 Plus II". The device appears in the devices list for the VM but on connection a popup window from the host occurs:

"Remote USB device error: Remote device disconnected: an error occured while sending data."

On turning on the device the vmware.log for the VM shows:Oct 09 09:24:57.892: vmx| USB: Autoconnecting device "OPEN NT1 Plus II" matching pattern path:1/1 autoclean:1

When I click the Connect option from the VM Devices menu the following lines appear in the vmware.log:

Oct 09 09:26:21.687: vmx| SOCKET 11 (323) recv error 0: Success

Oct 09 09:26:21.687: vmx| REMDEV: NONE:11 connection error: 1

Oct 09 09:26:21.687: vmx| REMDEV: Disconnecting device 'NONE' (11)

Any suggestions to get this to work will be appreciated.

Thanks, Mark
