Im using VMWare Server 2 under ubuntu. I have made a copy of a critical VM on the same server but when I boot this copy I have no network. Looking inside the VM that is also an ubuntu, I find out that i dont have anymore eth0 but instead, I have eth1 !? So i set up a static ip on eth1 and I bring it up. I can see it with ifconfig. Therefor the network is not working. I can ping eth1 but I cannot ping the gateway. The VMware host is configured with Bridged interface and I know another VM is working perfectly on this host. So what is wrong ? Can someone help me ?
