Hosting guest on an ssd drive (ocz enyo usb3 128gb)

Hi,

I'm hosting a guest vm on the above ssd drive

My host OS is Windows 7 Ultimate (x64)

The performance of the vm is pretty good, but every few minutes it hangs for a few seconds. I suspect this may be while the drive does it's background garbage collection.  Whilst most of the time it's ok, once every couple of days, I get a rudeunplug problem, and I have to reboot the vm (sometimes I have to reboot the host too).

My question is what can I do to ease the problem?  I have configured the vm disk to be optimized for safety.

I have also switched from a usb3 expresscard adapter to a native usb 2 port, and also tried a different usb3 cable.

The ssd drive comes with it's own universal bus controller driver which I have installed.

I've contract the ocz forums also, but had no response yet.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Martin
