I have a Debian Linux x64 installed on a server. I would like to know if I can install VMware Server 2 on this Debian Linux machine even if it's headless. I don't have any GUI installed on the Debian machine so I would transfer the VMware Server 2 tarball file to the machine and then extract this and attempt to install it. I don't know if this will work on a command line only server since I have never ever used any VMware products and decided to ask here. Do you guys know if I can install this without any issues on Debian Linux headless or will I need some kind of graphical user interface on my system?
The file I downloaded is : VMware-server-2.0.2-203138.x86_64.tar.gz
