Hi everyone!
I have previously set-up VMware Server running two virtual machines as testing environments. The VMs are running Windows XP Pro (Service Pack 2). The VMware server itself is sat on Windows Server 2003, which I access remotely.
The plan is to leave the VMs running continuously and access them directly over a Remote Desktop Protocol. This was working fine until we had an incident with Windows Server 2003.
The incident was that we decided to update to Service Pack 2 on the server. When we restarted the server we found that the IP Configs had changed. NIC 1 had no settings calibrated but NIC 2 did. We deleted NIC 1 and then reconfigured to run NIC 2 as NIC 1.
The server is now working fine and we can access it remotely, however the VMs have lost their configurations. When I run them it says the network adaptor is disconnected. I have stopped them, and added new hardware, selected Network adapter, and connect when starting up. But everytime I run a VM it says the network adapter is disconnected.
Does anyone know how to solve this issue? any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Phill
