Hi,
I am having some issues with a Vmware virtual disk for one of my virtual machines. The disk is in 2 parts as I had created a snapshot previously, but it did not merge when i removed the snapshot. Is there a way I can manually merge the two parts, as at the moment when adding it into a machine under vmware server 2, it says a file could not be found. Previously the host machine was running linux (now running Windows Server 08), and the 'ParentFileNameHint' line at the top of the child file was looking for a linux formatted path (eg /dev/mountpoint/file). As you can see from the attached images I have updated this to where it actually is, but i still get the error. I have also checked the CID's are the same in both files, and they are. I have also tried installing Hyper-V and converting the disk to a .vhd - I am not sure if this worked or not as the two parts of the vmware disk total to about 80GB and the vhd came out at over 100GB (and it gave an error inside the virtual machine after booting it up).
Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can get this virtual machine up and running again?
Any help greatly appreciated,
Aaron Trout
