Windows 2003 Host, Virtual Domain, Permissions

Hey,

Apologies if this has been covered before, but I could not find anything using the search.

I have a windows 2003 server running VMware Server 2 which hosts a virtual domain controller. My problem is that I would like to use domain accounts for the authentication / permissions on VMware Server 2, however if I make the host part of the virtual domain, it works fine until I reboot the host. When the host comes up it cannot find the virtual DC and for some reason, VMware Server 2's services start but does not do anything (ie, no VMs seem to run, and no web access). I think this may be because of an error in the event log about the DC being unavailable and that it cannot find its hostname.

This host does not need to be part of the domain all though it would be nice, I really just need the permissions part.

Any help with this would be grateful.

Kind Regards,

Chris
