Hi,

We are using VMware server 2.0 build 122956.

Operating system on host: Windows 2003 R2 X64

On the VMware server we have two virtual machines.

Both Windows 2003 R2 standard machines

Today, after more then 7 months, onde of the machines gave the following problem in de vmware.log:

May 15 06:26:15.354: vmx| GuestRpcSendTimedOut: message to toolbox timed out.

May 15 06:26:15.385: vmx| GuestRpcSendTimedOut: message to toolbox-dnd timed out.

May 15 06:26:30.370: vmx| GuestRpcSendTimedOut: message to toolbox timed out.

May 15 06:26:30.370: vmx| GuestRpc: app toolbox's second ping timeout; assuming app is down

May 15 06:26:30.401: vmx| GuestRpcSendTimedOut: message to toolbox-dnd timed out.

May 15 06:26:30.401: vmx| GuestRpc: app toolbox-dnd's second ping timeout;

We couldn'nt reach the virtual machine and host anymore. After a restart of the host, the problem was (temporary??) solved.

What went wrong with our server?

Attachment:

- vmx file

- part of the log (beginning and end)

Is this also a knwon problem with ESXi ?

Thanks for your answer.

Best regards,

Mr Coots
