VMguest on one host cannot talk to another VMguest on another host

Running VMWare Server 2.0 on 2 hosts.

Host 1: Windows 2008 R2 Standard 64 bit

Guest 1: Windows 2008 R2 Standard 64 bit

Host 2: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1

Guest 2: Windows XP Pro SP3

Both guests are network type bridged.  All OSes have their firewalls shutdown.  All OSes can get to the Internet and all other parts of the LAN/WAN.

All OSes can talk to each other EXCEPT Guest1 and Guest 2.  They cannot ping by either IP nor FQDN.  They can both ping themselves and others can ping them.  They both can resolve each others names.

This is very strange.
