Why can't I connect to web Interface?

Hi All and thanks for taking the time to read my question.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64 and have installed VMServer 2.0.2 to build a lab environment. This was working on Windows 7, until additional software was installed and now the browser IE or Firefox can't connect to https://mycomputer:8333/ui or 8222. Since I discovered it had stopped working, I've uninstalled and rolled back the OS to a time before the software was installed. This still didn't work, so I uninstalled VMWare Server 2 and deleted the directory, rebooted and reinstalled, but it still doesn't work.

I've turn off my firewall and even uninstalled IIS. I can't telnet 127.0.0.1 8333 or 8222.

Any other ideas?
