Flaky performance from VMServer

Hello,

I had VMPlayer installed and it worked flawlessly, but uninstalled that and installed VMServer for 64bit capability today and have had nothing but problems with it.

I've caught the VMWare Host Agent service stopping, and VMServer failed continuously while trying to import a vmx or create a new one.

What is the deal with this, is there specific browser or java versions needed for this software? I believe my first 2 error messages were related to me trying to run this inside of firefox, I'm not getting those anymore, but the remaining 3 errors were inside of internet explorer.

It's also obnoxiously slow when opening/running and I'm not sure as to why. This machine is Win7 premium, 2.6ghz dual core and 6gb of memory so it should at least be sufficient?

Is there some best practices I can follow for software/hardware config to have this work consistently? I want to use VMServer because that is what we have at work, but I can't deal with the speed and errors if they are just something you have to accept when not on server hardware with a server OS. The software hung on the 3rd image for 5 minutes and it is currently hanging on the 5th image at 15 minutes and counting. My firewalls are disabled and my processor is at 3%, physical memory at 49%.

Thanks for reading.
