Network problems

I really hope someone can help out. I will even allow remote entry into m y computer for trouble shooting.

I am running VMWARE SERVER 2 on a I7 Dell computer. Specs:

Vista Ultimate

9 gigs ram

500 gig hard drive

Wired Ethernet

I have no internet connectivity on my Guest OS of Windows XP 32bit and Server 2008 64 bit.

When I first create the VM and bring up the OS, the internet is there. When I shut down and reboot, it never connects to the internet again. It will not get a DHCP assigned address. I even try to set one manually and still no interent.

My Host computer is setup as Static IP:

Ip Address - 192.168.1.200

Subnet - 255.255.255.0

Gateway - 192.168.1.1

DNS - 192.168.1.1

The guest is always assigning a private when because it cannot get a DHCP assigned.

If I set the IP manually to 192.168.1.201, I can ping myself but that is about it.

I really like this program and would love to start using it if only it worked.

I have even tried a 2nd NIC. My host computer has internet no problem.

Can someone please help me out here?

Thanks.....
