VMnet vs. vlan

Hello,

I kindly ask you one definitive answer to my question.

The environment is an host (Fedora 9) with two NIC.

The host is a firewall between eth0 (wan) and eth1 (lans).

On eth1 there are five vlan  (from eth1.501 to eth1.505).

VMnet5 is in bridge with eth1.505 (vmware-config.pl does not give back errors).

A virtual machine (Fedora 9) with a NIC on VMnet5 (the system apply the net configuration without errors).

The result is: no communications on vlan 505 with the virtual machine NIC.

Why?

Is this type of bridge  supported from VMware Server 2.0 ?

And if this type of bridge is supported from VMware Server 2.0, can it be an hardware or drivers mistake ?

And if yes, those mistakes are due to the host or the virtual machine?

Thanks for the attention.
