Heres the scoop:
Host: Core 2 Quad 2.667 w/ 4GB and mirrored disks running Fedora Core 9 x64
Guests: 2 processors w/ 512MB, 40GB. Three total guests.
Host is running MYSQL, NFS, and VMware. No X server or other tasks that consume cpu time.
Guests are running Fedora Core 8 x86 with Apache and various plugins. No X server, etc.
When running this setup on separate Pentium 4 2.4GHz servers, it runs with modest load levels (<1.00-2.00). If ran on this virtual server, load levels run in the 0.25-0.50 range. However, after a while, loads will peak to the point of non response. If I use my load balancer to remove connections to the servers for a moment, they'll return to being responsive again. It seems that apache in some way does not work well with VMware. Anybody experienced any sort of similar phenomenon?
